Dash is our next adventure in hand silkscreen printed textiles. Dash is made of three panels:
Artisans in West Bengal traditionally sew quilts as family heirlooms. They carefully "Kantha" stitch our Dash quilt, using specific cotton thread colors, to give body and structure to the composition of each piece. There is approximately a 6-inch square where the printed dashes are oversewn with embroidery thread which gives the stone-colored reverse side a point of interest and makes the quilt quietly dual-sided. The Kantha stitching takes up to four weeks to complete.
